PRÉLUDE is the newest choir for unchanged voices who look to become the Tenor, Baritone and Bass voices of tomorrow. We welcome singers in grades 5, 6, and 7 to find their voice and connect with Chor Leoni, Canada’s most popular choir. This no-cost program is sponsored by Chor Leoni and directed by master teacher Carrie Taylor.

Over 4 weeks you’ll attend rehearsals, learn from one of Vancouver’s top choral instructors, and build lasting friendships with fellow singers. The experience ends in two exciting performances on the stage of the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts as part of the Big Roar Choral Festival, one of Vancouver’s major choral festivals, where participants sing alongside Chor Leoni, The Leonids, and the MYVoice youth choirs.

This year there are two PRÉLUDE sections, one at Burnaby Central Secondary, and another at Saint James Music Academy. Keep reading below for more schedule details.

Schedule – BURNABY – 25/26 Season

Friday April 10th, 2026 – rehearsal #1 at Burnaby Central Secondary from 3:30 to 5:00pm

Friday April 17th, 2026 – rehearsal #2 at Burnaby Central Secondary from 3:30 to 5:00pm

Friday April 24th, 2026 – rehearsal #3 at Burnaby Central Secondary from 3:30 to 5:00pm

Friday May 1st, 2026 – rehearsal #4 at Burnaby Central Secondary from 3:30 – 5:00pm

Friday, May 8th, 2026 – Arrive 4:30pm – The Big Roar Choral Festival Day One – at The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts

5:00pm– Rehearsal, food will be served
7:30pm – Perform at The Big Roar concert, ending 9:00pm

Saturday, May 9th, 2026 – Arrive by 12:30pm – The Big Roar Choral Festival Day Two – at The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts

12:30pm – Rehearsal
1:00pm – Perform at The Big Roar concert, ending 2:30pm
