  2. I thoroughly enjoyed the Saturday evening concert. It flowed well, with each choir providing an entertaining product that was impressive. The young men of MYVOICE get better every year!

  3. Once again, it was a wonderful weekend of celebration of male voices! Cantus was fabulous, the MY Voice choirs were excellent and heart-warming, the massed voices – as always – raised the roof. This is certainly one of my favourite concerts of the season!

  4. This choral community is something I treasure and will continue to recommend whenever possible. The music was superb at both concerts, the preparation a little sparse for those who are not good music readers and don’t hear well. It is so uplifting and valuable to feel the power of 300+ voices and two see so many young men begin what will hopefully be a lifelong participation and love of choral music in all its many variations.

  5. A wonderful two nights. The mood was set right from the beginning with Down in the Valley and the wonderful unison singing of Chor Leoni. The pure, unified sound was truly magical. Cantus on Friday was stunning. I loved the varied repertoire which engaged the audience and showed off the amazing abilities of this group.

  7. Both concerts were wonderful. Enjoyed the world premiere. Cantus showed entertaining variety. The Saturday event was awesome. The mass choir was amazing. All the boys were remarkable and very disciplined in the viewing of performances and sounded awesome in the mass choral. They had many of the songs memorized while the older guys had their eyes in the music. The wandering heart twice was a bonus. Cantus on Saturday did an amazing job on the Whitman poems but I enjoyed the Twitter song the most.

  8. I have attended all the VanMan events since 2016. While each one has been an excellent experience, each in its own way, but in my opinion, this year was the best yet. The young folks of the My Voice program have increased and continually improved – a credit to the Chor Leoni outreach efforts. I think what makes this year stand out for me was the choice of selections from Cantus, not only were their performance skills; precision, empathy and emotion, off the charts, the messaging in their lyrics to an often confusing and troubled world was inspiring. Along with Chor Leoni’s old and ‘Modern Folksongs’ provided a great experience.

  10. I loved the whole concept of mentoring ‘baby chor leoni’s’. Unfortunately, I sat beside a very rude patron who ate throughout the 1st half of the performance, sneezed and coughed due to a very bad cold and was texting a good part of the time. Truly a very distracting evening because of that. We did find another seat after intermission, thank goodness.

  11. I didn’t know what to expect at the Saturday evening concert. What a delightful surprise, and so inspiring–from young male student vocalists to the professionals. I’m so glad I was there. On a small note: the microphone pick-up did not make it easy to hear all the articulation of words sung.

  26. BY FAR…the best concert I have been to in years. First, showcasing the boys’ voices, then their singing in concert with the men’s voices was spectacular on so many levels. Also, to know the Cantus singers have such a deep connection to Erick, and to bring them in concert with Chor Leoni provided an amazing evening of enjoyment.

  29. It’s impossible for my wife and I not to feel privileged every time we attend a Chor Leoni concert. Not only do these men love to sing together, it’s immensely obvious that each member dedicates a great deal of time to honing his skills to attain the finest collective results. Oh lucky us! When departing the Chan Centre last evening, we couldn’t help but feel the deepest respect for every voice, young and old, that contributed to our listening experience. We have attended the Van Man Summit for the past four years, and can’t imagine ever missing it. Thanks to all who make this event so richly rewarding.

  35. We were blown away! How inspiring to hear how the MyVoice choirs came together in 10 short weeks and were able to deliver such polished performances. The Cantus Singers had us spellbound as neither of us had heard them before. But, as always, we loved our Chor Leoni! Thank you, thank you!
