  1. Last night was a great pleasure. Haunting melodies, rich vocal images, and that deeply satisfying feeling of walking into the cool spring air having heard pure collaboration, and purifying beauty. Winter is finally over!

  2. It was phenomenal. CL in top form. Erick’s article re this 25th Anniversary concert…wanted “the best of the repertoire at the peak of their abilities..” it was.
Absalon Fili Mi beautiful Ren. motet, Poulenc’s gorgeous harmonies. Tormis and Payette brought strong emotion superbly presented. Wedding Qawwali perfect concert ending!

  5. It was a lovely mixture of music. It was nice to hear what music will be part of the travelling and/or competing music for the July trip. I was very proud of Russ’s and Byron’s solos. The three cheers were special and heartfelt. Good job!

  6. Loved it…but please…could we have one piece where we could also sing a small part..a refrain..a part that repeats…such as in the piece from ‘Children of God”. Your entire audience loves music!

  7. Fabulous evening of beautiful and sometimes ethereal music. Program was strong and even from beginning to end. Our group of 5 liked not having an intermission. We felt immersed in a magical evening.

  8. I loved this concert. I always enjoy your concerts but this one was special; the harmony was lovely. Of course, it wasn’t just because you sang 2 of my favourite songs, “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” and “Hallelujah”. See you at the Bard.

  12. You guys should be preparing for a trip more often. This was the best show I have seen in 3 years. I took by 92-year-old mother for her birthday and she loved it too. A real diversity of material which has been lacking from some other of your concerts, something to please everyone. A note to the powers that be. Stash should be introducing all the pieces. He has a voice that captivates and is short, sweet and to the point.

  13. Everyone in our group of 4 agreed that it was one of Chor’s most moving programmes. Thematically timeless and beautifully delivered. A CD of this programme would be wonderful. I know you had a generous donor for one of the CDs, but most of us don’t have that kind of money. How about a “Go Fund a CD” among supporters?

  15. We came away from the concert lifted to the rafters and full of exceeding great joy. The quality and emotion of the pieces presented stirred us deeply. We found the applause to be a raucous interference to the intent of the music. Thank you all for your dedication and skill. We, the receivers, are abundantly blessed by your work.

  17. The choir sang with passion and as one. I could understand every word and nuance. Although much of the concert is what was presented at the Vanman Summit, this concert was more polished and intimate.

  24. The 25th Anniversary Concert at West Vancouver was outstanding. Eric Lichte survived being rushed at the stage with his usual grace and aplomb. The ensemble was in fine voice and my soul, my heart, were refreshed by the exquisite program and the sheer power of voices raised in songs of remembrance, praise, and honour. Thank you, Chor Leoni and all the very best to you on your visit to Asia this summer!

  38. Excellent diversity of songs – the first half of the show was a little similar in selection (and a little on the boring end for my taste, but beautifully sung), while the second half was phenomenal. This was a family outing organized on my mom’s behalf as she loves Chor Leoni – I enjoyed myself immensely, more than anticipated. The Indigenous song from Children of God was our favourite piece. Best of luck on Chor Leoni’s upcoming travels/performances!

Found the tenors were not very strong at points where they were the first to sing in a particular piece…otherwise no criticisms. All was masterfully performed and heartfelt.

  51. It was great! I know the hours of practice and training that go into making music, and all the songs and harmonies came out beautifully. I especially enjoyed Flight Song, Loch Lomond, Bridge Over Troubled Water, the song about truth & reconciliation and the Wedding song. It felt like the choir thoroughly enjoyed performing those.

  59. Enjoyed it all, as always. Absolutely chilling, goosebumpy, etc. Greatly stirred by Gimikwenden ina and particularly the sustaining ‘background’ voice (I’m so sorry I don’t know his name – often a soloist). Having grown up in Quebec, the tears fell during Un Canadian Errant, and was greatly cheered with Wedding Qawwali. Thank you encore!

  61. There is no doubt as to the stellar musicianship and talent of the choir and its leader. However, we feel that the repertoire needs more variation in tempo, tone and mood in first 2/3 of the program.
